Directions & Travel Information

Colorado Springs is the nearest international airport and is 1 1/2 hours from La Veta traveling south on the Interstate 25 to La Veta. Denver and Santa Fe are 3 hours and Taos is 1 1/2 hours. The ranch is 15 minutes southwest of the town of La Veta off the Route 12.

Directions to Sulphur Springs Ranch, La Veta, Colorado

Directions from Denver and the north.

Take I-25 south to Exit 52 for Walsenburg. Get off I 25 at Exit 52 and go straight until you come to a set of railroad tracks. Cross them and go through the first stop light and continue to the second stoplight. Turn right at the second stoplight. You are now on Hwy 160 West. Go about 11 miles on Hwy 160 until you see a large bill board and a sign with a left pointing arrow that says La Veta. Turn left. You will be on Colorado Highway 12. Follow Highway 12 through La Veta. Continue on Hwy 12. You will come to Mile Marker 6. Go three tenths of a mile past Mile Marker 6 and you will come to a right hand turn onto Indian Creek Road, for which there is a large sign. Indian Creek Road is a fairly narrow dirt road. Take it for 5.4 miles to Sulphur Springs Ranch. Drive until you see the signs for Dancing with Nature

 

Directions from Taos and the south.

Take Hwy 522 north to the Colorado border, where 522 becomes Hwy 159. Take Hwy 159 due north to Fort Garland, Colorado. Turn right at Fort Garland onto Hwy 160 toward Walsenburg. Go over North La Veta Pass. About half a mile past Mile Marker
